Summary

Anyone seeking justice in this urban dystopia needs to be judge, jury, and executioner. This is near-future Seoul: a physical, eat or be eaten world where law enforcement has been privatized and morality replaced by retribution. Oh Daesu is a middle-aged bully who has led a quintessential bad life. He is locked up in a hotel room for fifteen years without knowing by whom and what for. Once released, he seeks to unleash his hatred upon the world. His captor, Lee Woojin, reveals himself and taunts Oh Daesu in his quest, killing his only friend and tormenting Mido, a young girl inexplicably drawn to Oh Daesu. Mido helps Oh Daesu discover the reason for his imprisonment: he had caused the death of Lee Woojin's sister by revealing her incestuous relationship with Lee Woojin. Oh Daesu and Mido fall in love, but his desire for revenge haunted him. Oh Daesu tries to kill Lee Woojin, who reveals that Mido is in fact Oh Daesu's own daughter. Lee Woojin had imprisoned Oh Daesu for fifteen years in order to inflict upon him the same tormented love that had doomed Lee Woojin's sister. Oh Daesu gives up his vengeance and begs for forgiveness, leading Lee Woojin to commit suicide in satisfaction. Oh Daesu undergoes hypnosis in order to forget who Mido is so that they can begin a life together.
